It has been a long time since it was announced that Uncharted was going to take the big screen, but it seems that Sony has finally put things in motion. To begin with, we already know that the actor who plays the new Spider-Man in Spider-Man: Homecoming, Tom Holland, will be Nathan Drake . Now, The Hashtag Show , thanks to a source of confidence from the studio itself, says Bryan Cranston is among the actors looking for production.
It should be emphasized that it is not official information and it still has to be confirmed by Sony. But, if true, what role would he play?
According to recent information that put the plot in a sequence of the video game Uncharted 3: The betrayal of Drake , in which we see a young Nathan trying to steal in a museum, it is possible that Bryan Cranston can be the companion of fatigues by Drake, Sully. But the age between the two actors does not match the characters of the video game and clashes head-on with the idea of Sony to make a saga in which Tom Holland grows with the character.
Although Cranston’s age does not fit Sully’s, there’s nothing CGI or makeup can’t solve… We’ve recently been able to see a 30-year-old Colin Firth rejuvenated in Kingsman: The Golden Circle. Or Peter Cushing brought from the dead in Star Wars: Rogue One.
Another option is that Cranston is one of the villains. Gabriel Roman, a bounty hunter in Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, could be one of the possible candidates for his age and some resemblance. Nor is it ruled out that it is a new character unpublished in the saga. At the moment there are no more details about the expected adaptation that, according to its director Shawn Levy, claims to be the new Indiana Jones of this generation. Is this the first movie based on a video game that finally triumphs?
